Letterbox cakes from Bakerdays

I was really pleased to be asked to review a Letterbox cake from ‘Baker Days’

All our birthdays are from October through to March so when choosing the design of cake I should have, decided I didn’t need a birthday cake but there is always something to celebrate in the family.

Last month son Richard and girlfriend Isobel got engaged to be married, and Isobel has recently been promoted too so I could have chosen cakes for either of these events but I decided on the theme of ‘Celebrating Family’ as I have such a great family.

I uploaded a picture of my Grandchildren Evie and Isaac and requested the words ‘Celebrating Family’ and I was really pleased how the photograph of the children appeared on the cake.

DSC_3532Each cake can be individually created to your own design and arrives in a lovely keep sake tin which can be reused for storage purposes or for you to regift to someone with new contents. I love the tin and its already filled with my jewelery making items.

The tin of cake with candles, party blower, balloons and love hearts arrived in a flat box which can be posted through your letterbox.

DSC_3544Of course we had to light the candles which came in the box with the cake!

I chose chocolate chip cake but there were lots of cakes to choose from including gluten free. I cut the cake into four pieces and here is Evie tucking in to the cake. DSC_3546I managed to save a piece of cake for myself and even one week after its arrival was moist and chocolatey

As the Baker days website says  the letterbox cakes are ‘Cunningly clever little cakes’

If ordered before 2pm the cakes will arrive by post the next day and make a change from sending the usual greetings cards for special events.  Cakes by post is a great idea.

Baker days make other sizes of  personalised cake and cupcakes too.

The cupcakes arrive with their own cake stand and large cakes have the addition of a cake slicer too.
